Going to look at a Clio

So I'm going to be looking at Clios soon 1.5dci and 1.2 petrols. As its my first car I don't really have any idea what to look at for and neither do the parents(even though they think they do lol), is there anything I should specifically look for in either engines? Should I try and get a car with the cambelt done and how can I check it has actually been done? How much does it cost to get a cambelt changed?

Sorry if theirs already a post like this I couldn't see one after a quick look.

Thanks in advance.

If you could get a sample of the fuel in the dci & check it for metal filings - preferable from the fuel filter. A lot of people shift on knackered fuel systems now in modern diesels. Cambelt should be in the service book with receipt. I'd really only trust a receipt from a main dealer, and I'd call them to back it up.

Petrol is probably the safer bet if you're buying privately.
