Oh wow!

Is that another small hot hatch trying to race a family sized hatchback!

Oh so it is....

:sleepy:

I've just watched the full review, what the f**k is he doing?

First of all the RS isn't meant to be 10k better than the standard RS it doesn't have 10k worth of extra power it's a collectors piece I don't know but I think he's missed the point.

He seems like a tool. He was comparing them at the end.

Why?

;)

Tbh I don't think the clio can be classed as a small hatchback nowadays ,the focus is hugely bigger than the clio is it?

I know it comes across like that sometimes but if a 250 or a golf gti beats it you will not hear me complain other than the plastic arches on the 250!

The test was s**t as was the driver!

think the standard focus rs looks better than that tbh. the way it corners looks pretty damn good.

clio sports will always have a special place in my heart. they look unexciting to watch, but when your behind that wheel on a twisty road, thats the only place you will want to be

I think the intention was made clear in the video, to see what you get for your extra cash. Not much in this case!

As for the collector nonsense, well yes, if you want to keep it wrapped up for 20-30 yrs it'll probably appreciate in value. It'll also make you a sad plank!

Okay I worded it wrong, it was built for the person who wanted a FRS but wanted to have a unique one not one that any Tom dick and harry has.

FRP style you see.

I think it's built for muppets that will pay a premium for a tarty paintjob. The FRP has some pretty unique oily bits compared to a cooking Puma!

The FRP has been touched by engineers.

The FRS500 has been touched by marketeers.

And then they still released 5 unique (i think it was 5) FRS to mark the end of the production line.

Why lol? I don't see how a comparison between 2 hot hatches is pointless? It's comparing cars in the same class, but different price points?

The FRS vs the 200 as they did originally i agree with however not a collectors edition.
Also i would not put them in the same class, generally people will think "hmm shall i buy a meg 250, a FRS a Golf R, Rocco R, Leon R etc"

And 3M

Lol. Ford fail.

Why so much hate for the mk2 RS though would love a green one and a green rs200 Clio!
I think the mk2 is awesome, and 500 just seems a bit pointless, especially given that the important bits are available (with warranty) for the standard car!

But they are all hot hatches, yes? I'd put the 997gt3 in the same class as a 430 scud/gallardo supperleggera, despite the price difference.

Not everyone wants a turbo bland-o-hatch, the rs Clio is the journalists choice NA hot hatch, it's that or the civic Nike air.

Surely there's no such thing as a 'bad' comparison?

Someone somewhere will be weighing up the two cars, and for them it'll be perfect.

Sure, there's no-one going to be interested in something ridiculous like Zonda vs. Kia, but I've gone (am going) from a tuned ST to a Clio, and loads of the ST / RS owners came from RS Clios as well, so it's useful for a lot of people.

I know what you mean dude but using the 500 as an example for me is pointless.
Standard 200 vs FRS for me makes more sense.
Or if you wanna pick peanuts out of poo a 200 gordini vs a frs500 :)

So a fancy paintjob and some leather makes it a relevant comparison?

Christ, I try to be good natured, and supress the natural urge to be a c**t. But some of you guys make it so tough.

No its not a good comparison that my point. it adds nothing to the test.

I think it was used just because the price/ maths making the clio half the price. Personally if I bought a FRS I would get a second hand one and take it to Graham Goode, just down the road from me. He is getting a reliable 370. Then I would put all my spare change in my pocket and go find a FRS500 to race :D.

After this I would sell it cos I don't really like them, I don't know why I don't like them, I just don't!

Very well put Warren.
Sat in the Twingo on Sunday, impressed. Interior was very nice.
It's still shockingly bad in Clio and Twingo guise!

The test was pointless imo because they don't compare the 250 megane to the clio 200 so why compare the FRS?

Why even make the 250 megane if the Clio is just that good?

It's worth more the exact same as Renault think the 250 is worth more than the 200!

i personally think the focus is too big to be classed as a hot hatch, and cant see the point in paying that much extra for a 500 as opposed a standard rs, when it basically has a matt wrap on it it a remap.

FRS is soo common round where i live, i must see a green or blue without fail everyday somewhere.. more common than corsa Bs!
imo looks very clumsy does the FRS round the track, how can they compare the clio200 to it? shouldnt the meganne RS be its rival??

Lols at clumsy.

3 seconds faster with a less nimble car that weighs the same as a planet.

I think it looked fine. The guy clearly cannot drive tho.

by clumsy i meant with the huge kit spoilers and just generally how boxy and muscular it looks. looks like a roid head legging it round in a maze imo. ha
