how can you tell if the diesel pump is on its way out on a 1.5 dci

does it just go all of a sudden or are there signs of it goinging

if you mean your car is spluttering along, check your fuel filter first, your pump should always deliver more than enough fuel, you will have to get a pressure gauge fitted to the fuel line, but check that filter first.

Clio dci's are common rail right? If so there will be a lift pump feeding high pressure pump. Diagnostics will give you feed pressure and duty cycle on the high pressure pump. Coughing, spluttering etc, replace filter prime with injector cleaner instead of fuel.

yep. lift pump in tank and a high pressure pump in engine bay.

usually it will cut power and throw up a warning light on full throttle at higher revs.

had it in to renault about a month ago the spanner light came on a nd message came up on screen check injectors renault told me it came up with 2 injector faults
