Date written on engine cover

  Clio Sport 172
The service paperwork on my recently acquired 172 has been lost apart from some receipts and the previous MOT's.

There's a date and mileage noted on the engine cover in what looks like tipex......It hadn't registered in my head until now, but it's on the cover just over the cambelt. Looks like the date and mileage of a cambelt change, what do you think?

I know it's not absolute proof and I've got to have new belts fitted anyway as I've got a noisy dephaser, plus this is no proof that the pulleys were changed at the same time, but this at least alleviates the paranoia I've been driving around with to some extent.

Looks to me like the belt was done 20K and 4 years ago, can't see any other reason for the writing:

get it done!! :D

oh yes, goes without saying, I'm just really struggling with time/new job/study and I'm driving the car paranoid, and probably rightly so, but this at least makes me comfortable that it'll wait a week or two until I can make the time to get it sorted.

any specialists local to Burnley?

That doesn't mean it will 100% last for a week or two, like you say there's no guarantee any of the tensioners were changed with the belt.

theres a chance they may have though. there is both a cup belt kit with no tensioner and a non cup with the tensioner so either way who ever ordered the parts the person on the opposite end when looking for it wouldnt they ask if its a cup or non cup?
