They are a bit quieter than mine but Ive never been in a standard 1 when its being driven hard.............mine has the optional SS zorst and green panel filter.............and its superb...............I dont think Ill bother with an IK myself :D

  Evo MR FQ300 & Clio V6

Tom, Cant believe you have bought the car and not even looked under the engine cover!!! I am sure there were a few Badged up V6s in Acid Yellow fitted with 2.0 litre engines!!!

Only kidding :D

I am sure the worries you had with your coup will be totally forgotten as the V6 really does feel very well put together. Apart from the induction kit I would only bother with a Back box or exhaust - No need for engine upgrades etc. as you usually have to drive it slow for people to get a look.

Be very careful at roundabouts - my first outing in the V6 I had a guy stop right in the middle of a busy roundabout just to check out the car!!!

Wish I was off today!

Craig, my Illiad Blue Mk2 now with 16,300 miles is still for sale. I have fitted the Carbon Induction kit and there are loads of screws, took about 2 hours. Have to say that my car is still totally squeek and rattle free, sounds really good over about 4,500 rpm on wide open throttle. Not sure about any other mods as they do all get expensive from now on in. To keep on thread: Illiad blue is the colour !

wats the v6 sound like without mods?? because the 182 is sooo quite standard...
Pretty damn lush actually!

I have the Renault SS exhaust now but thats my only mod, though I didnt notice much difference in sound from the standard one when it was fitted - it sounds lovely, especially at 4000rpm and above!

  An orange one

im 21 in april next year, i got my 172 cup this march while i was 19 and i love it to bits..but my mate has a 255 and he gave me a go and its just simply in another league, i can get on a mk2 for £2230 fully comp (1st car in my name) when im 21, to be honest, colour doesnt really bother me except i dont really like mars red and id rather have liquid over acid yellow but hey..any colour is good!

oh and for the thread., i love lunar grey go for it!

You might want to consider just posting the link to the car next time and not the whole autotrader page! Youve stuck your post code down and if you were to buy that car someone might be interested in having a little out of hours look around it on your driveway (if you know what i mean!).

Just a thought :)

I picked up the car earlier today and simply "Im in love". It just feels so solid - the gearbox in particular impressed me.

So far today, I havent pushed to hard, though I have taken it through the rev range a few times. The sound as it passes 4,000rpm warms my very soul! Ive been grinning from ear to ear all day. The car just has rediculous road presence and Ive already had several people flash and point with the occassional "nice car mate" shouted from the pavement.

The handling also seems impressive, though I am loathed to push too hard for fear of lossing the backend.

I havent fitted the IK and have actually decided to try and return it to K-Tec. This is because I have taken out a policy through Renualt called GAP that only pays out if the car is unmodified. Gap works by paying me back everything I paid for the car if it is written off or stolen in the first 3 years of ownership. Besides, the sound of the engine without the induction kit is pretty special.

The only part of the car that hasnt overwhelmed me is the straight line performance. Admitedly that isnt why I bought the car (there are a lot better performance cars for the money), but It doesnt feel to me any more powerful than a 172 cup except possibly past 80mph.

Anyway, Ill be at the Cliosport meet at Donny South if anyone fancies a chat.

As I metioned before Tom.........Im not going to bother with the IK either.........its impressive enough as is..............I think the addition of the IK kit might just be more than the neighbours would put up with eh :D

As far as road presence goes youre spot on and that stays with the car.............it still happens to me where I live and Ive had the car nearly a year now :D

As for straight line speed...........well the R was much faster but hey that wasnt nearly the driving experience the Vee is.............not even close :D

And the grin.............well mine is basically permanent now...............everytime Im in the car..............hey what can I say...............quality yeah

ENJOY!!

Oh 1 thing Tom............as far as remaining un-modified goes..............if you wanted a SS exhaust (thats if the Mk2 doesnt have 1) then Reno did one as an option for the Mk1.............they may do the same for the Mk2 and that might not be classed as a mod..............just a thought.

And the price..........well for mine it was £874 + vat.

the gap works by makeing up the difference in what the insurance company pays out so you can buy a brand new factory built car in the first 3 years. Now they have stopped making the V6 I cant see the point of the gap insurance. As i understand it you wont get cash its only for a brand new car. I have the renault gap insurance and now they have stopped making the V6 it aint worth the paper its written on.

Jeeezz! - No wonder its priced to sell. You could have been in for a World of sh*t.

I was tempted to have a look myself - well pleased that I didnt bother.

Are you able to get your deposit back? Also how much was your offer?

yeah it was so start mate, but the vin still dosent match the reg..

its the finance aswell some one might still owe 20grand on it...

Yeah I forgot about the finance............but if its a dealer Im sure they could give you something in writing or an explanation.............possibly even the documentation that shows its been paid off :)

Seriously mate that sort of thing shouldnt happen at a car dealer - they get HPI checks for about £3 each being in the trade, and they should check every car before they buy it, and certainly before they try to sell it!

I wouldnt be surprised if theres been a recent change of plate or something, and for some reason HPIs records havent been updated. If the prev owner swapped the plates onto their new car, then it would show finance and VIN for the new vehicle, which might explain why it didnt check out for you.

If thats NOT the case however then steer well clear!

went to see him today and found out that he had got mixed up with the vin numbers, i put the correct vin number in and it matched the plate and v6:)...

also it showed he had a private plate on it before ** mtv and changed it back on the 7th july which means the finance could have been paid, ive bin told it could take upto 28 days for them to update it, ive got the finance companys number and will find out tommorow...

might not be sooo bad after all....
