gonna sound really stupid here but i noticed my headlight bulb might have gone and french car parts place says they only from main dealer.
main dealer reckons its £30 + VAT for one bulb if it NOT xenon!!!! if it is xenon its £150 + VAT!!!!
is this true?! it cant be! any cheaper alternatives?
thanks

Halfords do alternative bulbs in the UK.

They have there own brand, I have had a set of "Brilliant Blue" (or something like that) lights for about 16 months. I think they cost about £15 each. They also do a few others as well.

The trick with the 172 is bending all the pipes out of the way so you can actually get your hand and the new bulb into position!

HB3 is the main (dipped) headlight. H7 is the brightest (full) beam.

Look for some Osram Silverstars HB3 on ebay.

They are a b*****d to chage too!

yes at last! these are the ones the HB3s with the weird balck plastic adaptor thingy.
was gettin confused cos all the other ones on ebay had the silver plate with 3 stalks at base of them and thats not the one i need.
cheers, another renault mystery solved! probably not the last tho.

Can I just clarify....

First twist on the stork is... (which bulb)?
Second twist of the stork is...?

First twist is sidelights (W5W)
Second twist is dipped beam (HB3)
Full beam which is pulling the stalk towards and letting go (H7)

They are easy to change compared to most modern cars.
