you can get a new renault OEM exhaust cat back off ebay for £200, or get one from someone breaking their car on the forum or ebay. Have you put a note in the wanted section?
Cheers Patrick but I dont think that is for the 172 Clio it is a little diffferent.
Spanishfly - How much longer bolt did you use and what thread is it? Also how did you find the outer bushes to fit?

Evening,
I am going to fit both the inner and outer bushes to my MK2 172 and just wanted to know any tips on how to fit them.
What tooling is required for this?
Are there any tools people found helpful i.e. grips etc, and is it a one man job?
Also am I right in...

Hi mate what are the dimensions of the bolt you said 8mm is that head size across flats or is that M8. What length bolt did you use? Going to be doing this fix at the weekend.
Cheers
Not too sure but thinks it is advised to change the belts at the same time. Quite expensive. Look in traders at Fred's price guide but you are prob looking at £600ish. Mine does it but not going to bother as had the belts done recently. What is the service history like on yours?
Sounds like your dephaser pulley bearings are worn. Check service history, neglecting oil changes can cause this. There are loads of threads on here about it.
Evening,
Tonight I have fitted the powerflex bushes to my dogbone engine mount.
I looked at the guide on here by Dave who says that the thick part which locates onto the gearbox end should be facing up.
On my OEM mount the thick part was at the bottom when I came to remove it.

Awesome piece of kit just used one myself now car is completely different and much better to drive. Problem is they are like hens teeth so keep your eyes peeled.
Evening,
I have got to point of downloading the files from Fastchip to upgrade the ECU. I am trying this on a 172 Ph2

Hardware version: 8200057311
Software Version: 6400

The critical 4 digits from the VIN are CB1N
What I think I need is:

Definitely the Dog Bone mount - Powerflex is the way forward. Dog Bone mounts can look OK (solid) but under load they will allow quite a bit of movement hence the knock.
Hi,
I know how it is improtant to have a good mechanic to work on your Cliosport. I have just had my timing belt and auxilary belt changed by a chap in Huddersfield. He previously worked at Renault before venturing out on his own so knows what he is on about. Belt changes all in for me was...
I had the same problem and cured it with a new battery, you had might as well try that first as it is the cheapest option. The battery can show a full charge but still be faulty and not provide a current.
If I remember right the bonnet catch can become stiff so WD40 can free it, Renault did do a recall of Clio's for faulty bonnet catches and replaced them, you could maybe see if you are entitled to this at Renault.
I am looking to get an induction kit for my 172, I have been on the tinternet and reports say that they are not particularly good on clio because of the small, packed hot engine bay is this true?
If it isn't can anyone advise me one the best one to get from there own experience?
Cheers
Thanks for replying think I will do, it is running now without issues i.e. misfire but light is still on, I am gonna change the plugs as not sure when they were done last do you think it could help?
Hello,
I hope someone can help I am new to cliosport.net today, I have had a terrible weekend with my 172 after a good drive car wouldn't start leaving me stranded, battery gave good V reading but changing it anyway and it seem to solve it. Today after cleaning it the electrical fault light...
