I fear that these replies maybe confusing you, so to confirm, there are 3 different specs for a 182, excluding the Trophy. I suspect you know anyway.....
182 Cup - poverty spec, cheaper interior, no xenons etc.
182 - nicknamed Full fat, but never sold as such. Better interior, xenons, headlight...
Not sure I'm with you?
My question is; is a Megane 230 worth twice as much as a similar mileage 182. More space, more performance, better built, but it doesn't feel that one is worth twice what mine is to me. It's a rhetorical question really, because everyone would have a different opinion.
I...
What did you get instead though, are you really better off?
...and why do the Clios seemed to have dropped so much, so quickly?
Is it just typical of French cars getting to a certain age? the reputation means they drop much more than the German and Japanese stuff?
I have owned my 185 for 4 years now. I still love it.
With a 1 year old girl, the boot space is tight at times, other than that there is no reason to sell. My family keep telling me to get a bigger car, to make it easier with the little one.
Problem is, I can't bring myself to sell the Clio for...
Neither coilovers or spacers are your solution. Coilovers could reduce your arch gap but that is an expensive way to work around a simpler problem.
What tyre size have you got?
I have gone down to 15"s but don't have the same arch gap. The reason? I bought tyres that would give me the same...
Really?? well, that would defy physics - and common sense - so LOL back at yah!
You replace something made of rubber, with shock absorbing qualities, with something solid.
Why do you think solid top mounts change the steering feel, and 'sharpen it up' like people say. They merely remove that...
If you introduce more air into the wheel arch, you will have more turbulent air in there, thereby increasing drag. Without some form of arch ducting, then you will theoretically increase front end lift, however, you'll never feel it at the speeds you will ever experience, it might start having...
I am getting fed up with mine because of the crashy ride.
Problem is, they've been on a few years and I can't remember what the feel is like on the original rubber mounts.......
Out of stock EVERYWHERE. Tried Essex, Camskill, Black Circles etc. Uniroyals have no stock and no stock date, not sure what they are doing but I can't wait.
Now, what should be 2nd choice?
I have a lovely set of refurbed 15" Superleggeras waiting for some rubber, settled on getting some Uniroyal Rainsport 2's but can't find stock anywhere.
Any tips?
Tried all the normal online cuplrits and no joy!
With no MOT, that is top money. I wouldn't go near it until it had a ticket on it, because you don't know how much work is still needed. Always suspicious why an owner doesn't get it finished themselves.
It's not the width that I'm worried about, especially as the ET on the alloys is 37.
It's the fact that the sidewall on a 195/50 is less than on a 205/50, so will fill the arches less
Kiddie on the way and I really want to keep the Clio.
Bought a buggy that goes into the boot no problem, but it seems the rear seat space may cause an issue. Recaro Babyseat on Isofix base just fits behind passenger seat, if seat is slid forward a bit more than normal - not ideal.
The baby...
Hey Guys,
Just spoke to Uniroyal about tyre weights (because I am crazy fussy about reducing weight).
Thought this may be useful for other weight saving freaks out there -
195/50 R15" = 7.06kgs
205/50/15" = 8.35 kgs
So, if you have gone down to a 15" rim to reduce unsprung weight...
Really like the darker wheels. Just about to paint my Superleggeras and was wondering if you know what specific anthracite your wheels have been painted?
Fed up with leg ache and a numb left arse cheek every time I go for a long journey now (might be my age ;))
So, are there any other seats that offer better support, especially lumbar support, are lighter, and tilt forward, to provide access to the back?
I know about Trendlines but would prefer...
Ermmm, well I got the Alleggerita weight from the Oz website -
http://www.ozracing.com/car_wheels_var/OZ%20Racing/25182/I%20-%20TECH/ALLEGGERITA%20HLT/25619.aspx#
I presume that is pretty accurate
....and as for my wheels, I weighed 1 myself, with my digital bathroom scales :rasp: ;)
Yes, I get that too, as it is a %age of the width.
Just wondering if someone who has some Rainsports fitted can confirm their experience with the tyre in the real world.
Thanks though
Umm, no, the smallest Alleggerita is a 16" rim and weighs 6.02 kgs. The 15" Supeleggera weighs 5.1 kgs, although that size will need a heavier tyre.
The Alleggerita looks lovely but too many £££ for me
Yep, I know all about tyre sizing, which is why I questioned how a 195 width in 1 brand could be different to another.
Just asking on here to see if anyone had Rainsports in a 195 to confirm if there were any probs really.
I don't want to lessen the grip in the dry
Got myself some 15" Superleggeras, the lightest wheel to fit as far as I know.
I'm trying to decide which tyres to get now.
I have pretty much decided upon the Uniroyal Rainsport 2's.
Question is, what size?
Either a 205/50 or a 195/50
I've just read on another Forum that the 195 Rainsport...
I've just weighed my new 15" Superleggeras - 5.1kgs
I have also weighed a standard 182 wheel - 9.7kgs.
So, that is 4.6kgs x4 saved on unsprung weight :approve:
The KTR Janspeed exhaust with 1 box is 7kgs lighter
