I did that too for my x001 and just cut a little hole in the flap to feed the lead into the glove box. anyone who tell takes the dash off or drills needs to cut down on weed.

From where i was standing it didn't look too bad. He just removed the air box and pipe to get to it. He just used a lighter to melt the heat shrink tubes over the wire.

Got mine fitted and.... I can't believe the difference!!!! It starts quicker, the revs a back to normal, it feels alot more responsive and fun to drive again. Also the mpg has gone up too.

3 choices: 1 buy a new handle for about £40. 2 open the sunroof and wedge a sponge or demister pad between the handle and the glass to make it stiffer when closed. 3 turn up the stereo. I'm currently using a sponge for now.
