yeh that one is mine, have another currently been repaired, same colour, the other one is a cat D though. The damage on that one was light for a cat C really, when you price up bumpers and labour etc its easy to see why the cost exceeded that of the value as the book price is relatively low really, i would be willing to accept an offer just above the 2k mark, its a very tidy car.

I must confess I thought cat C ment it had structural damage and needed an inspection before it went back on the road and Cat D was effectively the unecconomical repair but would apear to have been wrong.

I'd quite happily buy and use the car going by the advert and pictures trouble is always selling these things on, I know from trying to sell a cat D M3.

I would have thought you get £2k with the history,

I paid £2350 for a 66,ooo mile sunflower, with service history.

I cant beleive anyone would pay anywhere enar that as an option on a french hot hatch, even a 182. Fook me, paint options on a bentley aren't that much and theres 42,000 choices of colour with them !!

  LY 200
Haha...I wouldnt pay it either but 82 people did and one of those peoples losses was my gain! ;)

Best ph1 colour imo and I dont like yellow cars! something about the yellow paint against blue interior soo works for me. Rare too iv only ever seen 2 sunflowers in the flesh and 1 of these is my friends, only downside can think of its bit of a summer colour?

FFS ! maybe I stand corrected. sorry fella. Who on earth would pay that?

Someone with money i suppose mate......I know mine has every option bar the comp stripes and the sat nav so it would've been a fair bit to buy originally and even when i bought the car 3 years ago it was up at silly money to start with at the dealer until i haggled to what i thought was a good deal.

Gawd knows what the 'ID' stands for but it meant either Liquid or Petol Blue paintwork at the time of the 182's going on the market.......The exact info is probably on the Renault site somewhere!

Good to see that so many of the Sunflower's are associated with the club, looks like they're already becoming a collectors item for the enthusiasts. :) Where's this sudden love of yellow come from Chris, you buying one? (I assume you'll still be going Jap?)

What, you mean since this topic started? haha ;)

Seriously, they dont fetch any more than the other colours from what iv seen over the years. If anything less !! (less as a example from roughly 3 years back based on a car from a main dealers in Glasgow)

Folk on here know their rare and will pay accordingly but in terms of market value their exactly the same as any of the others.

Kind of wish id a got yellow when i had the chance. Took roughly 1 month of deciding then went for the iceberg due to yellow cars being less in value come trade in / selling

Ner not like that, lol. I don't mean that people are paying any more for them, just that they are beginning to actively seek them out. I don't expect that this thread has anything to do with it! :)

Btw, the Sunflower with the yellow plates which I assume is in the Netherlands, does that count as one of the 31?

Hey Ralph,

so it doesn't count towards the UK quota then? Or were the Sunflower ph1s only ever made for the UK and it's been shipped out? (I see it's left hand drive, so I can only assume it's a native). Looks a minter either way.

Iceberg is also a great colour, always looks fresher than Titanium for me.

  Clio 172 RS2
I reckon' it falls out of the UK quota...

Native as to Lhd indeed.

I originally wanted a Black RS2... but that color hides the roundings of the shell.
And Blue is so common.

Still Sunflower Yellow is thé Renault Sport color.
Blue is for Gordini.

  Ph1
There was never a quota or a production run. Their just rare because not many folk wanted that colour at the time.

The figure is 31 Sunflower yellows right according to a website? (cant remember the name but it gives out all the stats)

Is that just based on UK Renault dealer ones?

There was only ever 1300 odd ph1 172's to come through Renault but that dosent include the thousands more which were imported through from car supermarkets.

Theres quite a few Sunflower yellow ph1's kicking about now and again to say there was only said to be about 20 odd now left.

It was a loose use of the word quota I suppose, didn't mean it in that sense. I mentioned it earlier, but I guess that Sunflower was only rare as no-one ordered them, much like the inferno V6's etc. I'd also guess that the 31 is for UK dealers, but I can't imagine that many Sunflowers have been imported, if any. All guess work though.

I'd say you're probably about right with low 20's. Although I've seen more Sunflowers than I have Odyssey, Iceberg or Flame Red ph1s come to think of it!

You and me both dude! :( Go halves? I buy the car, you insure it? :p

Ive never seen any other sunflowers driving about, and not just local but everywhere ive been in the uk in the 2 1/2 years ive owned mine. Even before i bought mine it was the only one id ever seen (20min drive from me, local guy had owned it from new)

Ive only ever seen other sunflowers at shows

  Lots of Alfas
Ive only ever seen 1 yellow one once, and 1 red one other than mine. TBH i never understood why silver was such a popular colour at the time.
