What have you done to your car today ???

  Track 172 Cup
Another frustrated injured tinkerer! I was knocked out after a fall at work on Thursday, still don't feel 100% but itching to get at the Clio again as the brakes haven't been stripped and cleaned after the last track day 😧

Haha yeah I hate it not being 100% had quite a bit too do as well on the car and on the house but all on hold. If you look a couple of post up you'll see the calipers that were taken off on Sat and replace with rebuilt ones. @MarkX

Nothing too thrilling for my Clio today - just fitted some new Michelin Stealth wiper blades from Costco and ordered some Xsara fan washer jets. I'm planning on removing my alloys tomorrow, giving them a good clean and waxing, and rotating them front to rear. The rear tyres are a pair of Exaltos that are 9 years old so they need wearing out on the fronts!

Wired up some tweeters, my car is one of many 200's that didnt come with dash tweeters and wiring for them. Trip to local scrap yard and got 2 tweeters and plugs for £10 nice cheap mod with loads of improvements.

Tightened up all the bolts/clamps on the exhaust, no more blowing mid-section now! And later on I might go ahead and paint up the fuel rail cover and that metal brace by the battery and ECU box, those are looking ratty.

Well, my car is at BTM getting the belts changed. As for what else have I done to it? I gave the car a vacuum yesterday.

Dont mate it looks s**t when it chips, get some good quality trim restorer on there, it might sound daft but the best thing I have found for the 1*2 grill is Maguirs endurance tyre gel.
I've got some of that! I just hate the grey look of the grille though. I'll try the megs gel mate cheers

It's got a lot of silicone in it, just like Back To Black, so it would make sense that you would get similar results, although the Meguiars is a gel so might last longer than traditional spray on stuff.

I collected my v6 this morning from SG Motorsport after leaving it there last Saturday to have the following work done:

Cam Belt change
Aux Belt change
New pulleys
New lower engine mount
Water pump replaced
New clutch & slave cylinder
4 wheel alignment
New discs and EBC redstuff pads all round
Goodridge braided brake lines fitted
Brake fluid flushed through and replaced with ATE Super Racing DOT 4 Fluid

All this work has made a huge difference to the way the car feels, the 100 mile drive home was great fun!

Yesterday I spent the day searching for a misfire. Found it was cylinder 3, swapped coil pack, leads, plugs...still on the same cylinder.

Managed to get hold of a couple of injectors today which I've sent my Dad to go and get so I'm just about to start removing the old ones ready for him getting back.

I would of used C4 trim restorer but previous owner has sprayed bumper with grill attached so it's covered in blue overspray. Will try spraying and if looks crap I'll get it carbon dipped

Swapped the injector and all is well. Thank god for that.

Was a pleasure fitting these.

No more creaking when i apply the breaks and also for some reason no more wobbled and vibration on the motorway at 80 :)

Had the coil pack and leads done to cure a misfire... which it sort of still does. Still got a lumpy idle.

Oddly though, my MPG has managed to go from 46-ish to... 51.3! Keep in mind I'm a driver for Domino's so this is all stop start stuff. Had to drive like a proper old man though!

Filled it up with fuel for the second time this week.
Took delivery of a new rad, coolant, turbo and a few other bits.
Tried to get the A/C working but failed again.
