Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Quick question guys.

Are C1/C4/C5 all much of the same still?

Need to stock up on C4 and C5, so just wondering if I can go for 30ml of one or the other.

Although not talked about/confirmed, it is the same product, with different instructions. I.e. if you apply incorrectly to bodywork, it's an issue for n00bs. If applied incorrectly to wheels/plastics, it's not. That's the basic reasoning behind not confirming.

Great work on that TT btw, Andy. Cracking results!

Thanks mate! Happy to go with a 30ml of C5 now. Will go with C5 because 5 is a bigger number than 4 lol.

Has KDS Kelly been doing a spot of interior spray painting again?

Lol. God knows why he's wrapping the car. Presume he's done well for himself with KDS but is still quite chavvy, even with his good taste in cars.

Look at that interior. He has a 355 also JD.

And the Trevor? Christ. Although I guess when you can DIY paint and mechanics, you could buy at the bottom end of the market and bring them up to concours!

Completely disagree, it's gorgeous, Jaff! I love the car and I have a lot of respect for Russ. But that wrap is a catastrophe.

I can't say I've ever looked at lsblue and thought that's an epic colour. And russ had one in his place when he was doing the focus so I'm not just basing my opinion on pictures.

im not saying that frozen wrap is better but it's not made it worse.

The Trev was for sale.

Haha, I use this phrase a lot. Missus hates it. No idea why, but it means I chuckle when I see/hear it!

Double negative?

Quick freshen up on Mothers car, Didn't spend too long on it as it's off to the body shop this week and after that it might be sold.

Stunning colour but the sun had gone off the drive by the time I finished :(

I liked the car, wheel colour don't suit it. Well it was a bit of a tarts colour scheme going (maybe the red/black is in my car?) on but at least it isn't boring and it was well kept. Love Laguna Seca Blue. Not often you see it either.

Would never own a car with that sort of colour scheme going on, maybe a Cayman S or Boxter S with red/red but prefer something a little less loud on say a 3er..... I know its an experiment and it will be restored but its butchery whichever way you look at it.

Cheers to all who gave advice the other day, much appreciated.

Ordered some Sonax BSD and Hydr02 on the 24th and it arrived today with some fresh microfiber cloths. Damn impressive service from "clean your car ltd" to say the least and the discount helped a little.

Shall post the results in a few days time.

BSD is brilliant stuff the beading is awesome from a QD & it's a pleasent smelling spray aswell. Coconut scent

but its not a QD, can be fussy over what it is applied that can significantly affect how long the beading lasts, and it can be pretty bad with application, far too easy to over apply and does smear more on darker colours than the reports of C2.

It can be good, but it has plenty of flaws

the spray head is not the best ever & it can smear similar to what I find with aqua wax

I'm a bit embarrassed that I let it get in such a state

I'm in need of a better hose for my Karcher, one that will easily get round the car and not coil up like the god-awful plastic one that came with it.

Any recommendations or even a pointer as to what material I need would be appreciated!

Someone had a link recently to some hoses for Nilfisk that were apparently good and available on variable lengths.

Anyone?
Doesn't seen like Homebase are likely to get any Centenials in anytime soon.
