845 doesn't mute flake pop/any shine. It's a great winter wax.

Gex, try C2V3 if you're lacking time. Spray on, wipe off, 6-8 months and boosts the looks, not mutes it (as with 476).

The 845 is the liquid wax right? A friend used that on his old R32 and now TTRS and swears by it!

I'll definitely check it out and get some ordered, thank you :)

I could sort that out for you but you're a bit far away. That needs paint though, no amount of polishing will get rid of that unfortunately

Tripple will just fill and much lesser marks than the above. You'll need to machine polish that to make it less severe. Doing it yourself my well be futile, but for the price you've mentioned, something like Meguiars Scratch X v2 is your best bet.

I doubt that will polish out tbh. If you can feel it with your fingernail then it's gone to deep.

Although ambiguous, I think he's saying his fingernail doesn't get caught in it.

I don't think it does. Certainly not for a quick fix. You could make that look a heck of a lot less severe with a machine.

Not convinced personally. it looks as if it needs paint.

having reread the guys post again if he doesn't get his nail caught then you're right

Thanks for the replies guys, I had a feeling it was too severe to be saved by hand scratch removers, I will have a go with some sort of scratch remover (maybe that Maguiars as mentioned above) to see what it comes out like for the sake of £15 before making the decision if it worth getting it professionally fixed. If I was to use a scratch remover do I need to use a polish or wax on top to protect it?

Last six photos, IMO buddy;

Yes, you'll need to follow up the polishing with some sort of protection (wax, sealant, what ever you use on the rest of the car).

Thought it was a decent price, especially anyone doing decent levels of correction. :)

Very decent dude, another company had a deal on £6 a bottle I think it was before Christmas. I bought a few, I need to go through and organise my gear so I know what I actually have.

The FG500 I had certainly wasn't very fine. I used it as a heavy cutting compound on a coarse pad.

from the i4d site - 9/10 Abrasiveness

I noticed the other day in decent sunlight that the paint on my BG 182 is looking a little tired - this was after I had given it a detail by hand.

As a result, I've been looking into DA's, reading the various guides and watching videos. It's something I'm certainly looking at purchasing, although maybe I can watch someone at it to get some insight.

In terms of pads etc, what does the below look like to you guys? I'm hoping to remove some marring and swirls in the paint:

I've got Rejuvenate and Tripple already so not sure if I'd need 106? Also not sure on black vs white pad.

Any help would be great!

I would add a White pad in there, I'm just going on what I was recommended when I ordered, also spot pads will be a benefit when working in the smaller areas, I bought green, black and white in both sizes and a smaller backing plate.

Cheers. I take it the white has a little bit of cut. Is it better to switch the black to white or have both? The spot pads 4"?

I ordered Green, White and Black in 5.5" and 4" with a 3.5" backing plate iirc.

I don't know what your current detailing kit looks like but don't forget tape etc.

Yes I'd need some 3M tape. Got Iron-X, tar-X clay etc.

Did you also get the Menz stuff?

Green pad with 203
White & black with 106 / Rejuvenate ?

Sorry for all the questions

Let me know if you're selling a decent white hex pad Dave. I like to keep stock!
