williams wide track conversion

  Sunflower Yellow Ph1 172
quick question. can anyone tell me why the renault 19 drivers side driveshaft doesnt fit in this converson, reason being the hubs, wishbones, arb are the same in r19 and williams, shocks have to be symetrical so same both sides its the same engine and the gearbox casing is the same. the 19 passenger side driveshaft fits but the drivers doesnt?!?

One side's driveshaft is different on the Williams.

It's not as easy as "it's a 16v with some 19 16v bits" :)

because if the engine was in a different place because of mount or whatever neither 19 driveshaft would fit the williams as both would have to be different lengths. but as 1 fits the other must as well surely

No it won't fit...the 19 shaft is a couple of cm to long.

Track is different...its wider on the 19 16v and its the subframe that causes this (as obviously a 19 subframe won't fit a clio and vice versa).
