whats this pipe for?

mines broken, i know it heads down towards drivers headlight but thats where its broke

Its the pipe that connects to the carbon canister, I managed to melt mine with the headlight bulb and I never replaced it. All seems fine.

Something to do with excess fuel. Loads of people remove them.
