Would the harnesses be better strapped to the rear brace?

I have been told that it woudnt be safe?!
They would if it wear stronger design.

You need to mount them to somehting strong but regardless you need to mount them higher and better. Have a read here

my car passed its MOT with the harness's wrapped round the strutbrace...its safe :)
Mot doens't check for its correct construction only that there not fraid.

Put it this way it CANNOT have been made by Renault and passed Uk safety checked and been sold with mount where they are now it woulnd't pass FIA approval either for entry into a race series..
