Steering locking on start up

Hi,

My girlfriend has a 1.2 authentique clio and when she starts it up and she goes to turn the steering wheel the steering locks on and off and doesnt allow her to turn normally and the steering light also flashes as it locks on and off.

It seems as if it only does it when its cold?

Any ideas?

are you sure it locks? it could be that the power steering is playing up and only working intermitently. The steering on clios is VERY heavy without the power steering.

but, if it does lock, then i would suggest getting it looked at ASAP. It could cause her to crash.

it feels like it locks maybe its just coz its really heavy. it goin in for its mot so will get them to have a look at it.

anybody ever had any similair problems?
