Starter motor

I replaced my engine and have a spare earth near the starter motor. Should this go on starter if so where?
It just reaches the starter motor. But cant see anywere else it would go.

That looks to me like it goes onto a stud on the gearbox pal, look around where the n/a shaft goes into the box, that area there should be a stud that takes a 13mm nut!
