spraying trims

  work for BMW
just a quick question, when spraying things like black plastic bumper trims can you literally just spray it with a black rattle can or do you need to sand / primer / spray / laquer ?

depends what look you want, if you just want the trims black but still textured just degrease them and spray, if you want the texture removed and them all smooth then expect quite abit of prep work for them to be done properly

Ah okay. Not sure how those crudely sprayed Ford Ka bumpers are done that peel and flake off then - they must do that intentionally!

I'd have thought he would be doing them blue with it being a blue car that he owns.

if you are just going over them, a quick coat of satin/matt black is fine with just degreasing, basically back to blacking them

if they are being colour coded they need completely detexturing
