rusty bits

I'm possibly going to look at a 172 cup that has rusty patches on the outside of the leading edge of the base of both rear arches. Any esperience on whether this is likely to be fro the inside out or from the outside in type rust? My suspicion from reading rusty arches threads on here, is that its highly probable that its rusting from the inside out from behind the rear trim cards so is likely an expensive job to fix.

Unless it's stupid cheap don't even bother looking at a rusty car.

So many clean (enough) examples, there's very little reason to bother.

Yup, they start to go from the inside out where all the cr*p collects inside the arches. Rust inside the fuel filler cap area is common too unfortunately for the same reason.
