Right so in an attempt to eliminate the knocking coming from me car ..

I have decided that i will replace the lower ball joints, arb bushes and try the top strut washer fix. So i just want to verify that these are the right parts that i need.

The car is a PH2 172 Non-Cup 53 plate.

I have the same issue, was going to try the same washers for top mounts. Took the car to garage and they say it's top mounts. Keep us posted on how you get on, looks like you have the right parts

Well ended up taking taking it to Dan at SJM on here in the end. Straight away spotted a leaky shock on the front. So this was suspect, throw the top mounts in too to rule them out we thought. Anyway, after fitting the knocking has persisted. Turns out that its probably the ball joints. So there on order for my next remedy. Pretty much a full front end rebuild on the suspension to find the b*****d. There wasn't any give in the balljoint last time this was checked when the arb bushes were fitted. Mysterious machines these!
