Reverse light fuse???

Hi my gearbox is not too well and when I engage 1st the reverse light comes on. Is there somesort of fuse I can take out to stop this happening? Kinda not good when setting off as the reverse lights come on. I have no Haynes nor the book here so I dont really want to be popping bulbs/fuses out in the dark not knowing what im doing.
