is this worth getting, as i am tierd of taking my car to find out fault codes when i can fix the faults in my garage myself.

It is if you aren't a remould, you can possibly do more damage than good if you press things you don't understand. Also bear in mind that is a chinese clone.

i have the destructions for use with a proper CLIP unit, so with taking care i ' should ' be able to fault read and erase faults without much hassle. plus i wanted it for live statistics and perameter to learn more about my engine.

hmmm, i want to get one, but on the other hand i dont want one that will wipe my ecu when plugged in ( not human erro ) i mean crap clonned.

does many second hand ' PROPER ' one's cropp up often?

Not very often no as they are meant to stay in the dealerships afaik.

only other thing i can think off is a RS tuner, but i dont think they wil read dci engines

If you buy carefully the clone should be ok for what you want.

I was offered one for around £75.00 a while ago but after posting up on the forum some people had said they ran into issues as they where fakes and cheap copies of the real ones.

You know you have a real one when you are paying these prices.

Mine is a clone yes and I paid 115 I think but have had no issues and has paid for itself twice over now although the sofware being used is genuine Renault, it's a bit of a pain to navigate but once learning what does what then your away

i might get one now, times are getting hard to sort engine problems out and trying to cart a shed up and down the country for a simple plug in health check is dam right annoying

Just don't get upset if it does something unexpected or breaks when you plug the USB lead in. Some are quality, others lack it but they're copies so you can't really complain.

going to bqckup my ecu to a piggy back ecu before i go exploring.

is its possible to re format the fake clip with the genuine clip computer software?
i can get hold of a genuine to borrow for that.

If its gen software it won't work on normal pc the stuff off ebay is but modified to run on normal pc

theirs surely gotta be a way to make a gen work on a pc thats non specialised.
think it moght be a route index file that needs re calabrating for general pc usage

Only works on windows xp, and the genuine software needs a registry patch before it will work .
Anything after version 117 won't work now unless on a proper clip system that's activated.
I have the fastchip version with software for sale at the moment , don't need it as I have the proper kit.

It won't work, it won't install on anything but 32 bit.

Anything after version 117 won't work now unless on a proper clip system that's activated.

Its already been cracked.
