Removal and attaching steering wheel insert

I know a lot of people recommend using a screwdriver to remove the wheel insert, but how easy is it to then put the new one back on? Surely all the force required to remove the old one will mean the new one won't go in easy enough?

And on a side note, am I right in thinking other interior items come off pretty easily? Cheers.

It just clips back on with no real hassle. Gentle force that's all.
