I must admit I was ordering a vented cf bonnet from David @ktec and he said it would take upto 6 wks to get 1 in stock so I didn't bother. If i would of got one I would have got it sprayed. I personally think the only colour to suit a cf bonnet is silver.

I personally think carbon bonnets look cheap and tacky for the reasons you came up with yourself.

However in my scooby days someone did this to their car...

Now that looks quite nice.
