Question for a mechanic!

First service for a Clio 172 (12000 miles), do they need the wheels off to perform the service thoroughly???? Please see my previous posts re locking wheel nuts. Thanx in anticipation.

Come on peeps, someone must know the answer, got a big gripe with Renault Slough and need some answers !!!

on a 1st servive we do not take the wheels off. the oil is changed and the levels are checked plus all the running gear - you dont have to take the wheels off anyway to check the discs and pads. If the customer insists there is a problem we will take them off but if there is any additional work found an extra charge will be made

Renault stated that they could change my front tyres because there was no unlocking wheel nut key? They did not even look as when the car was taken to a tyre centre it was found that there were no locking wheel nuts on the car!!!! So, they did not even look, and this is after they had a wheel and tyre specialist in!!!!! Wanted £160 for a pair of front tyres as well. want to phone them up and give them a bollocking basically! Car is a parellel import.

got the tyres at half the price, Conits. I just want to know what the F**k renault were on abaout!!!

I think UK cars are fitted with CAT 1 alarms and locking wheel nuts when they come off the boat from France, so as yours is an import it wont have had this done I think.
