my car was filthy yesterday so give it a quick wash before taking it to matt to save him some work

this is after one wipe with a wash mitt on orange crush, can't wait to see how these new waxes perform

matt snow foamed it and give it a quick once over to remove any detritus the car picked up on the way to his

then went on to stip the multiple layers of OC from the wings and bonnet

they are just crap iphone pics to show the wings, i think matt got decent ones of the bonnet and better ones of the wings to upload :)

he applied 3 different 'strength' waxes, we were both most pleased with the stongest mix. it gave the wing a much slicker, wetter look.

my wings are now pretty much completely waterproof. he poured water on the wings and bonnet to see the beading/sheeting, the water rolled right off and onto the bumper where it beaded in greater quantity and in less uniform beads.

Is there a colour mismatch on your car or is it just a trick of the light? Door looks way darker than the rear quarter.

looks good that! :) keep it clean scott ! LOL

btw what was used on the 3m blue pad to strip the wax off?

Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular. I also demonstrated how this same combination also has a limited amount of cut, and I was able to round off a couple of deep scores on the bonnet - if I'd used a polishing pad I would have removed them, but the purpose of the excercise was to simply strip off the old wax and give the new stuff something to grip onto :)

So I've read through this thread, and I must be missing something.

What exactly is this wax offering that other waxes don't? I'd imagine there's plenty out there that make LY shiny.

It moves water like a ceramic sealant, and we're hoping to gain 6 months longevity from it. These are both uncharacteristic of how wax works..

If it shifts water like a ceramic sealant after 3 months with no tops ups only washing then i'll be impressed otherwise it's just another wax.

I've yet to see a freshly applied wax not sheet water quickly. Glasur is blink and you'll miss it, even AG HD is like that on application, infact HD being a hybrid of sorts dispenses water at a ridiculous rate after months.

There was freshly applied wax on the bumper and door I believe - well, from yesterday :) the water took 7 or 8 x as long to disperse the water, and on the bumper infact, after it had rolled off the wing, held onto the water whereas the wing was dry. I agree with what you're saying though, it's 3 or 4 months down the line which seperates the men from the boys so to speak, and this is something Scott will report back with, and it'll be a totally unbiased 'warts n all' opinion. Rather than me just saying "check this out, teh worlds greatest wax"

must be the pic/light, down to the way the rear quarters protrude out, they match irl

and yeah, ill be keeping this updated :) gonna try and update every 2-3 weeks after its got nice and dirty and had a bath

Do you have correct shampoo for washing the surface?

Yeah definitely. Victoria soap, Gwash I like as it's quite pure for any ceramic sealants.

Btbm is a straight forward one.

I've seen you about a lot recently. I'm usually either walking near Alty met/bus station, or driving the Trophy.

Have you got a website? Would be interested to look at your services.

  Abarth 500
Yeah, I do have a site. magicdetail.co.uk :)

I drive through Alty every day as I drop the missus off at work in the town centre and/or I am at the bank or gym lol.

Went to see RussZS yesterday. He was really impressed with this wax. Said it repels water like a glass coating, and I let him perform a load of tests on it to satisfy his mind this wasn't a magic trick! Nearly neat g101 had no effect. Tardis had no effect. Iron-X no effect. The only thing that did was Smart Wheels, a strong alkali, but that would have taken out alot of coatings, but you'd never use such a strong alkali on paintwork! It's a wheel cleaner!!

have you had it on any test cars yet?

I'm quite interested in it's water behaviour on a dirty car, whether it repels well enough to almost self wash when driving in rain or heavy standing water. eg my wifes car with tripple and toughcoat had plenty of dried dirt and mud, but was 75% + gone after a single drive in heavy rain.

little bits like this really interest me

More so for those of us unable to wash their cars on a weekly or even monthly basis. My car sits for weeks without being driven, usually dirty (Carbon is not bad, Glasur is better). One rain pass makes little difference, but if this wax could counter that, I'd be very interested.

Same, I'd be interested to see how it behaves one the car starts to get 'dirty'.

gave the car a quick clean today. nothing special, just wiped the s**t off

this stuff cleans itself to an extent, but these lines still appear and need a wipe

the wax makes cleaning as easy as Orange crush (one wipe and the car is clean)

but, it beads longer, repels water better and dries itself much faster

oc on the door, prototype on the wing

you can see the wing beads water much faster/ better, and did it almost instantly. while OC is still working on getting rid of the water
