plastic door strips spraying

hi guys,

ive got a black clio and im looking to colour code the plastic side strips.

they have a rough to touch feel and this was making me wonder if the paint will sit badly on the plastic?
i will be using rattle cans.

any advice will be appreciated !

Sand down the texture.

sand down with a low grade sand paper..... primer with plastic primer... leave to dry for 24 hours.... if u want to be thorough then use some high build primer on top. wet sand. paint.. dry.... laquuer... BOOM
