Painting bump strips aznd bullets!! Help?

looking to paint my bump strips:

how many layers of each?
what sand paper?

do i need:
etch or acrylic primer?

i know i need:
plastic primer?
basecoat aerosol
clear lacquer

for my rear bumper insert i just used standard primer instead of plastic primer as the plastic primer eats what it touches slightly and the rear bumper moulding thing is pretty flimsy, side strips are a bit more rigid though so would of tought it would be fine. and as above, there is a guide for this
