OWN OIL AT SERVICE TIME...

Can anyone advise if you have to provide Elf Excellium 5W 40 Or will any 5w-40 Brand name oil be OK.

Will they say no its not Elf ?

Nope any oil! Mine has Mobil 1 go in it everytime.

When mine had a service the dealer ( Lookers ) put Shell Helix in it. They had Shell posters all over reception.

So long as its the correct viscosity and meets the required specs then youll be fine.

I know the situation with this as Stuart (my son) was in the same situation when he got the V6.

If you drive your car hard then Silkolne Pro S 5w-40 from Oilman above.

If on the other hand you want to stick to the manufacturers recomendation then call: -

Total Butler (in Castleford) on 01977 603363, just ask for Debra and its £69 for 24lts inc vat & del for ELF Excellium LDX 5w-40.

Stuart went down this route because Renault wanted £44 to do an oil change so if you offset that against the cost of of the ELF oil its almost paid for and you still have enough for another 4 oil changes.
