Never heard one in the Flesh but I've heard they can be very loud and I'm unsure on Claimed BHP gains but I'm pretty sure they are one of the lightest exhausts out there.. Something like 9Kg's Lighter than O.E

What are they like? are they loud and do you have a noticable gain?

Cheers
Chris

I have the non-stainless steel race version; it's the lightest exhaust by miles, the mounting (of the single backbox) is superb, there's a sportcat(100 cell I believe) included and you do feel a noticable gain, haven't had a before/after RR though.

But it's unbearable loud (especially at legal motorway speeds), looks sh1te from the back and is very expensive.
I'm changing mine next week for the Orbisoud road version (already saw it), it has the same mountings, single backbox design and is still very light (and loud I'm told), but a tad less obviously plus it's stainless steel and beautifully finished (has some nice looking ends).

Had a Milltek before the Orbisoud, the quality and the design is just no match, the Milltek is a joke. As usual you get what you pay for  .

About the loudness.

I heard when the clio's raced at Zandvoort (Holland) they had to change parts of the exhaust because they produced too much noise for the Dutch circuit regulation. (yeah they are more strict then in england or belgium for example)

Anyway the cup racers were (if not still) equiped with them...so if you think that's loud :)

very light exhausts, i have the 172 race version on my clio and i love the noise, gives it that track **** sound. mine was sound tested at 97.9db but this can change with conditions (wind, air temp ect) turns lots of heads and theres nothing else that sounds like it.

I would like to try the 182 version but im not in a position to give 1k for an exhaust and part with my BTB system.

The videos i have hear sound great and the road version from ktec does look good.

There are 2 versions, 95bd and 85bd (i think) 85bd has an extra scliencer on the center section after the cat. i dont think the cat will pass and MOT either??

It won't pass the dutch MOT, don't know about the UK MOT.

The sound is indeed truly unique, when you're in the mood it's lovely. But living with it day by day (especially when you have passengers) becomes tiresome.

  My trusty lil 182 :)
Beautiful exhaust and revs much cleaner. Not sure if its more powerful or just sounds it!

Reaonably peaceful at low revs but is very loud at higher revs with a cracking raspiness and pops and crackles nicely on the overrun. It is deafening at 70-80mph though. Going to get some earplugs - my ears are ringing at the end of a decent journey lol! Had a db meter on mine and its 99db at its loudest.

Hoping it will pass the MOT too because it's not coming off for it!! Cat is built into centre pipe so cant just change the cat come mot time. Hoping to get a tester to give it a once over at some point so will report back.

Been wanting to put vids up for ages too but camcorder is busted :(

I dont think there is a check on the noise as such in an MOT. As long as it meets emissions and isnt blowing, bobs your uncle and trevors your mothers brother

Whats the track regulation on noise BTW?

Exactly, strange thing is; outside that speedrange it's still loud, but just nice and raspy instead of boomy.
You have the road-version? I was hoping that that one wasn't so boomy at those speeds :dapprove: .

Not that it is going to help you (being in the UK), but my Renault specialist has a special Orbisoud centre pipe with the factory cat built in to, so it can be easily changed come MOT time.

Yeah, I have the road version! Its perfect at 70mph in 4th gear but not so good for the fuel consumption lol!

Interesting! Would be expensive to get one of thos knocked up so hope I can avoid that. No emissions lights yet so fingers crossed...

Have one fitted to my 182 (only silencer is the rear box) - sounds fantastic when heel and toeing!

Know what you mean about the sound at 70mph - in 5th it seems to be exactly the point at which the exhaust is loudest :S

Fingers crossed re. the MOT - not gone through one yet.

Had a Janspeed and sports CAT fitted at last MOT and it passed - kept putting the emissions light on all the time on the road though.

So far no light with the Orbisoud....

  RB 182 Special.
The road version sounds really, really good. I've been in a Trophy with an Orbisoud exhaust and an ITG Maxogen kit on and it seemed to pull through the revs noticeably quicker than mine, although it's always different being a passenger to driving. Noisewise I didn't think it was too bad. Yes it was reasonably loud, but not as loud as my old 106 and I was happy cruising on the motorway with that (although girlies did complain a bit).

The race ones are a different story though. They sound really loud, and absolutely awesome!

Orbisoud exhausts are supposed to be the best out there for the 182. My hat goes off to anyone that has one of these systems on their Clio, but personally I'd have to be feeling extremely well-off to justify forking out a grand on an exhaust system for a 182.

I believe I've got an Orbisound for my 172 that I got off my mate in Belgium from a guy that used to race the clio cups.

I will get some pics up for someone to verify - or if anyone has got an pics of theirs.

I got a straight through centre section and back box....and a separate box to splice into the straight through section if its too loud.

So the best of both worlds then. :)

Have you tried it with and without the centre silencer fitted? It'd be interesting to hear what the difference is. When I had my 106 I had a Magnex system on. It wasn't very loud but gave a nice deep sound and with the decat as well it used to burble and pop occasionally. Then the weld cracked between the silencer and pipe and as it was fitted when I got it the warranty didn't apply so I got a straight through centre section made up and it was great. It was a LOT louder, which was a little tiresome at times, but it popped and banged all the time and sounded just brilliant!
