Last time my 182 was in for a service the dealer used mobil 0w 40w, is this the right oil? Other posts seem to suggest it should be 5w 40w. What difference will this make, if any?

It's nothing to worry over. The oil will just be a bit thinner when cold- which isn't a bad thing when the engine is first started.

Here in Australia Renault recommend Elf synthetic 5W40- we get Elf Excellium SM 5W40 here which is supposedly their best comsumer synthetic. You'll probably find something similar under a different name?

As long as it's not a bottom of the range Mobil oil it should be fine.

Would be the only reason to hug them..
