Noise inside the dash… (Not a rattle/creek!)

Hello,

Just after a little advice please. When I bought my 172 thee and a half years ago, it started making a strange noise from in the dash. When I corner hard (either way) I can hear something slide from side to side. I think there must be a loose piece of metal (perhaps a bolt) which slides around. After all this time, it is really starting to piss me off. I have taken the dash out and I couldn’t get access to the area I needed.

Is there some sort of shelf within the dash? If so, how do you access it?

I know it’s a bit odd, any pointers would be greatly appreciated though…
