My new Iliad v6

  Clio with a body kit
Well last night I picked up another vee. It's gonna be a bit of a project as a few bits need tidying up but nothing too much.
It's standard apart from a airbox and a custom exhaust. 50 mile journey home last night was fun. It's different to the other in a few ways but equally enjoyable.
Looking forward to next weekend to hopefully spend most of it giving it a good clean/detail if I have time.

Teaser pic for now. More when it's cleaned up.

Iv seen your spending on your project thread mate so you are in know position to judge!!

The stickers will be getting removed. I will be making a list of things that will need to be done but for now I'm just going to enjoy it!

Well jelly.

Was this the £12k one on eBay?

If so, you jammy b*****d, I spotted that last night lol

I don't think so mate. This was never advertised. Friend of a friend type deal I met the owner at a show last year and said if your ever thinking of selling let me know and he did!

Suspension woes! Hopefully you get it all sorted soon. Your welcome for a look when ever. Not long now till cliosport Saturday tho.
Could do with someone with a mechanical brain and plenty of car knowledge to point me in the right direction!

Loooovely

Did I read on another thread you was at snetterton last night? I spent most of the evening chatting with people but I did manage to see a little track action and a couple of blue 182's going round. I was parked with pistonheads in the bit of the paddock nearest the end of the straight.

Iv used this car a lot since Iv had it and I really enjoy the louder exhaust burble.
This weekend Iv used it to look at jobs take the dog for a walk and deliver some scaffold clips to a friend.

Gave the car a good wash at the weekend. Full decontamination followed by a spin over with the da using prima amigo didn't have time to do any correction yet. Waxed with auto finesse illusion. Which I love! Even managed to get my girlfriend doing the windows and plastics!

Managed to have a go at headlight correction tonight as well which went ok. They are probably about 90% now. I'll wet Sand them when I get time.

Iv had a very close look round the bodywork now so I know what's what and what needs my attention. Iv made a list of bits I need to purchase which luckily isn't too big at the moment.

A few pics

Good snow foam pic. I like snow foam when it's warm as it hangs around longer than citrus pre wash.

I decided that bigger was going to be better!

Masked up with the hazing in view. iPhone pic but I think Iv captured it.

Finished picture. Came up quite nicely. I took some pictures on a proper camera on Saturday after the wash/ before the headlight correction. If there's any good ones I'll post them up.

Looks like the girlfriend missed some of the plastics. I'm not going to moan tho as I was glad for the help. I saw her drop one of the cloths at one point and she instantly new that she couldn't use it anymore!

Haha, I know what you mean when someone else helps out and they drop the cloth. Just like me. Reminds me of this, me to a tee...

After work tonight I decided to give under the bonnet a little clean. main reason I bought some new dzus fasteners and the rubber strip at the front.

I probably missed a lot so will do it again soon. I used g101 with brushes and water the zaino z6 after. Autoglym silicon hose wipes a tyre spray on the tray itself which came up great.

Also managed to get a set of original mats, a wheel center cap and a strap for the tool kit.

Unfortunately the strap was wrong. Think it's for the tyre foam kit under the drivers seat which I already have and the wheel center cap won't go on till the wheels have been refurbed.

£7.50 each from Renault parts direct was the listed price. Think I paid a little less as Paul discounted it on the phone. They don't look identical to my others either so iv kept those to attempt to clean up.

How much were the dzus clips ? and where from ? Mine look like yours did 😧

You have nicer kitchen units in your garage, than I have in my HOUSE.

Ha ha thy are nice. Soft close draws and doors too ;) best thing about them was the price.... They were free! Some people throw away some nice stuff. I also acquired the tiles and adhesive for free!

You too @rctempire. Ha ha I'm still undecided about which I'll keep if I do have to get rid of one at some point.

Iliad is booked in for wheel alignment next Friday. We are going to get it on the ramp on the Thursday after work and have a look underneath.

New bonnet ordered for the other one as well to get that looking good again.

I dropped the car of at a local sports car specialist last night for full wheel alignment. Driving both cars I new that something is a bit out as I have no where near as much confidence in this car as I do the technical grey.

I stopped in today after work after not hearing from him and the car was still on the ramp. We had a little chat and he said that on both sides the 'toe adjuster' was seized (maybe the wrong name I'm going from memory and I'm not that clued up!!) one side he's freed but the other side has snapped. Then we looked at the front ones and one was bent at the front as well most likely from contact with a curb.

What he did say tho is the the 'toe' was a very long way out almost opposite to what it should be on the front and the back so he's confident when back together I should be very happy. So all in all it's costing more than I hoped for. (It always does!!) but it should hopefully make the car 100 times more enjoyable to drive.
