My MG ZR 160

  MG ZR 160
I have had my ZR 160 for 4 yrs now and wouldnt change it for the world. It drives great, handles great and is jus fun to drive and not changed the HG since ownership. As mentioned above you got not rag the tits out of it on a cold engine. To the thread starter get some coilovers ffs....looks like a tracktor atm.

This one is mine

Not a bad choice, I LOVE the K-Series engine... Such a great engine when looked after and used correctly and its so simple to work on..

Enjoy it mate

I had one of these for all of about 8 months. Then I got shot of it, in preference of the 172.

You'll never guess why I got rid of it either.
;)
Shame really, it was quite a fun motor really, I'd be looking for a VS180 now though.... although, in fairness, they're hardly world-beating machines in this age where 180hp is the stuff of 1.4 turbos, not 2.5 v6's!

  Pathfinder n 172cup
Had zs v6 180 for a couple o months lovely car to drive pretty quickish sounded great. Stop shitting all over this mans new pride n joy all cars have there problems my 200 needed new brakes at 10k and a

I'm sorry, I must have missed the post where someone mentioned a fiesta??

Have you been drinking?

"CS never forgets" style comment. Though ironically CS does appear to have forgetten. Admittedly "Mk6 Zetec S is the biggest chav chariot eva!!11!11!" hasn't been said quite as much as "best cash price?"

Interesting to hear they handle so well. Also interesting to see they're group 17 insurance. SEVENTEEN  Looked epic as S1600 rally cars, and the ZS in BTC spec.

When they came out they were the most stolen car in the UK.

I think the blue one above looks goods to be honest. For the price you can get them, why not. Its just all the chavvy ones about that ruin them. Bit like Clio's..oh and every other hot hatch pretty much.

If it wasn't for the fact they looked like a Max Power "wet dream edition" of a Rover 200, they may have aged a little better over time,

I dunno, I think they look pretty good tbh? But I would as I own one I guess.

each to their own, exactly.

I just felt a bit too inconspicuous running around in this bewinged Rover, the Clio is hardly much better what with dsa stripez but the MG used to get every Corchav and his fat screw giving it the "what for" at traffic lights.

Mind, I was in Boston at the time, the people there are 560% r****d

Im yet to drive mine more than 50 miles on the road, so its something I havnt experienced. I can safely say I enjoy something a little more stealthy, volvo's are where its at...

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
I think they look good, and theres loads of Tomcat Turbo'd ones about which is cool. There are some absolute rapid ones around here, in a straight line at least.

BUT I live very close to Longbridge, and every single dreg of society has one, and is constantly up your arse with his blue halfords lights and washer jets! Regardless of what car your in, if your young and its sporty, they try and race you.

Amount of times I've been in my mates Focus RS, my Type R, Renault Sports and a 1.4 105bhp model has tried it is un real.

Nice car, scumbag owners

Different to a Clio.

Not better, per se, although, of course, EVO will say differently I'd imagine.

Remember the Rover 200 was an Escort/Golf rival.
By the time the 25/ZR came out, the old rivals had got so far that the nearest comparison was then with Fiestas, Polos and Clios. But even then, the ZR is a bigger car than all of those early '00s hatches.

Renault Sport only becomes s**t when people move onto other things. I've noticed.

LOL. I use one regularly, wouldn't dream of owning one, nor would I own a ZR again. Fact of the matter is the ZR is no worse than a Clio. Except this forum will never accept that as Clios are clearly the pinnacle of automotive perfection.

Why come on here then if you're clearly peeved by the fact people are happy with their Clios? They have their reasons for rating them above other cars (including the ZR), hence why they own them.

I think the forum is quite realistic and open minded about other cars, generally speaking.

For the record, I quite like the ZR.

He is on here to check no-one is chatting up his missus :p

I liked these when i was younger not so much these days though, not a bad buy though.

nuff specialist engine techs in here....

i like it, change the zorst (which you are) coilovers (if you can) and it would be a weapon.

granted their image is a little tarnished but i like them. enjoy.

Its a fcking clio forum? What do you expect? I expect them to be ridiculed on other forums but not one dedicated to the car in question

As Alex pointed out, i dont understand people that use the forum that dont actually have any interest in it.

Cli oforum is very blinkered.

Only BMW's, Clio's and Mk.1 MX-5's are allowed to be given anything other than complete disregard.

It's not biassed, it's just ill-edcucated

Thats aload of balls.

Just look at some of the cars people own on here or have owned.

Ok, fair enough, there is a hardened JDM crew as well, who will say that anything built outside of Japan is toss.

Because theres more to the forum than Clio's?

I agree Dan, it's pretty open minded on here. I think you'll find many people have strong opinions on MG's, they have a poor reputation in general, that is nothing to do with cliosport being "blinkered".

  Listerine & Poledo
FFS.

Strong opinions on:_

MG
Mercs
Vauxhall
Audi / VAG
FIAT

I mean, how many threads would I need to list where pretty much every manufacturer gets a CS-panning, generally involving some sort of barely comprehenisble argument about "Twistiez".

  120d M Sport
It's a forum that revolves around Renaultsport hot hatches and is more inclined towards "drivers cars", generally speaking.

None of the above you've listed have been renowned for making great drivers cars, as a result they're not the kind of marques that appeal to most people on here.

I agree with you Mercs dont get much love, on here they generally prefer BMW because they tend to make more sporting, focused cars whereas Merc tend to make better luxury cars.

Vauxhall and MG are quite unpopular among a number of forums however, that's not a problem isolated to cliosport.

Why do I use this forum? Because its more than a homage to the Clio.

All I'm saying is they're no worse than a Clio yet all this utter b****cks and slather is being bounced back because people don't want to hear it for some reason.

Nor am I JDM blinkered, I'll buy from any country. f**k me I also own a Renault.

At the end of the day it is an opinion. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong.

I'm pretty sure alot of people would enjoy owning a ZR I'm not just one of them. I also think that most of this JDM stuff is utter tosh, but look at the following it has on here. It's just personaly preference.

I think the diversity of cars/opinions on here is what makes it a great forum tbh. It would be pretty boring if we all owned the same Clio and just w*nked each other off about them all the time.
