Multidisc player displaying ERR CD 3

I have found a few similar threads regarding this problem.

When I flick to the multichanger in my '51 172, the following error message is displayed...

ERR CD 3

A few of the threads on CS have mentioned putting a CD cleaner in there to help clean the laser/lens. However, the eject button does not work so I am unable to remove the cassette.

Any ideas how to go about this without forcing it?

The single CD player does work.

Probably because it's a CD-R or CD-RW.

Nope. They're all official CD singles and albums. In the three and a half years I've owned the car, I don't think I have ever put a CD-R or CD-RW in either player.

Cd changers not read Cd-Rs? Was looking into getting one scrap that idea then.

They do read them. It's just in some instances, they have caused problems hence people putting it down to that.

They do read them. Just depends how you have put the music on the cd.

Sounds to me like the cassette has broken maybe?
Can you not try and get it out without breaking it?

this happened to mine, whilst its trying to read the cd, disconnect the changer (not from behind the headunit) and itll obviously error, then plug it back in and it should allow u to eject the cassette, it worked for me anyways and has worked fine since
