MK1 ECU reset trick

How long to you have to leave the battery dissconected for the ECU to do the reset trick? Or is it just a case of whipping it off and then putting it rite back on again?

^ I think is like 10 minutes or so? May be wrong... but once reset make sure you let the car idle for 10 minutes with nothing turned on, and then 10 minutes with your lights, radio, blower on so it's under load. Then a quick spin. That should be it!

I heard it just Resets it or summin for use on the petrol your using.
I may be totally wrong though & it prob does nowt.

disconnecting the battery only erases the fault codes on the mk1. leave off for a minute or so. it does nothing else really
