Matthew's BMW Z4 Sport (2 litre content)

Hi,

Went for a drive around the A and B roads south of York today as the weather was so nice. The roof even came down :)

I really need to get the run flats off though, tram-lining on the uneven roads was terrible.

BMW's tramline no matter what tyres you have..(from my experience anyway)

Looks smart though. I'd def remove the 2.0 badges off the sides. (FYI i'd say the same if it was a 3.0 badge..;) )

Looks nice although you have gone from a good engine to a terrible one, should have held out for a 3.0 imo.

I bought one of those for the Integra, you'll soon get fed up of taking it on and off lol.

I have got a good routine at the moment, 2min job on the drive for a dry roof. Well worth it :)

The tram lining is terrible on bad roads!

It's not a terrible engine atall. Yeah it's not got 200+bhp but 150 in a fairly light car is enough.

Once above 3k rpm, it really pulls. Better than the RS Clios (mk2)

Massively wrong broseph!

Decent tyres and correct alignment and they don't.

Without over stating things, my car actually felt like a different motor when I fitted //M wheels with conti's and had the alignment done later that day. I could drive 50% faster and feel totally safe doing so.

It does feel semi-dangerous at the moment. So much so, Sarah actually pulled over and made me drive today!

She wants the golf back. Although, heaters went on, seats went on, top came down and a city centre mooch put the world to rights again :)

Yeah .. if only someone had nagged you for 12 months before you finally saw sense. Your shoe handled like a baby deer on a frozen pond before the Contis' !

I clio rs would have no trouble leaving a 2.0 z4, I worked for BMW for 3 years and the 2.0 engine is terrible with loads of injector/top end problems.

I had to buy back numerous cars with this engine in.

Thanks for your input. All I would ask next time is that you read my post properly before commenting.

I was on an at him as well, it was trying to pull me all over the place driving back from reading, least it was easily fixed!

Who says a two seater isn't practice? Ha

I also decided to 'de-badge' the car and remove the two litre badges. I think it really cleans the side of the car (nothing to do with advertising the lack of displacement ;))

I need to get some de-tar on it tomorrow to get rid of the glue residue. Ill grab a quick picture when it's been cleaned up.

Loving the fact it will sit at 50mpg on the motorway on a run!

Hi,

I took advantage of the nice weather today and finally got round to a few jobs I have been meaning to do for a while.

That being; waterproof and clean the hood, paint the callipers silver and remove the residue from the '2.0i' badges.

Required:

First job was to vac the hood, as it was covered in lambs wool wash mat hairs...

After the vacing...

Applying the AG hood cleaner.

Rinsing off.

Drying off before applying liberal amounts of the roof sealant.

The said badge residue..

Then my attention turned to the brake callipers. They needs a lick of hammerite smooth silver to refresh them.
