Mars 034 goes for open heart surgery.

Cool pictures, even cooler car! Its stunning.

How great is it to know you own such a car, that's gone up so much in value. Your being paid for the pleasure of owning it.... brilliant

Thanks mate. It's definately a nice feeling knowing it's mine. I definately think it's time to sort out some kind of agreed value insurance. I'm not sure me and elephant would agree anymore if the worst was to happen. Haven't a clue how to sort something like this out though..

Elephant insurance... You are a brave brave man allowing them to cover that!

I know.. They have done for years now. They used to cover the BM as well until their renawal last year was rediculous so it's with a privaledge now.
Might have to try some classic car companies...

So this is what condition a 6 year old, 9000 mile belt is in... I don't think it was going to snap anytime soon.

Cars home... Running like a dream, my exhaust is definately louder for some reason.. But it sounds epic so maybe was never fitted right for the last couple of years.
Again top marks for Renault carlisle... Car had only done 1 mile as well and was parked over 2 spaced when I collected it. Superb!

Weird you say that, I know someone else who said their exhaust was louder/different after a cambelt change (this was on a 197 though).

I wonder if it's related to timing, or something else? His wasn't an engine-out job like yours, so no reason to touch anything exhaust-wise.

You checked Greenlight or any of the other specialists on here?
I havent mate, will look into them though

I know, definately strange, its really noticably louder from the outside, and its not something i was looking for, but its that obvious.

I was with them too till they started acting up & I binned them off.
How did they start acting up mate?

They gave me silly renewal quotes & then wouldn't honour the ones I'd got online with them, plus they started to say that they didn't know what the car was. I sacked them off & saved a ton of money :)

Never knew it was an engine out job on these! Awesome pictures.

Y'know, I thought the exact same when I got the belts done on my 172. The likes of high lift cams will change an exhaust note, so it's definitely possible the timing being altered could affect it if it's made enough of a difference to the opening/closing of the valves.
