Will need the FULL kit, every 5 years or 72k. Not some back street place either, must be a place with experience of the engine. Plenty of specialists on here. Will cost £450-500 or so

They aren't trying to be smug mate, just trying to help. The belts are a very expensive job (I should know, mine was done recently) And there have been quite a few cases of them braking or the AUX belt braking meaning new engine job.

aye theres a few 172s around here not alot 182s, i sold an astra vxr not long ago but after tryin out the clio sport iv just gotta av 1 lol, better handling than the astra

Take your time on purchasing one, as others have said, there's plenty out there so dont rush into buying the first one you see.

Absorb some knowledge from the experts on the forum and buy with confidence.

I like the Astra VXR's, a lot on here don't but they look good, go well and the Nuremburg one which I had a go in sounds awesome!

What is it you like better about the 182?

i loved my astra but cost a fortune so sold it and iv always liked the clio's so thought id go for one.
iv been looking at 3 182s now, the first 1 i looked seemed ok but after investigation i found out it was a cat d in oct 2010, 2nd one is slightly older than the one iv been contemplating on buying and isnt in as good condition

This. You'll more than definitely get a good example than from a dealer, and know its been looked after by people who care 99% of the time. For the sake of 12 quid

Sounds like they have no idea mate. We can't tell you what to do but it sounds like the dealer is just a salesman, nothing more. He just needs a sale and will tell you anything to get you to by it.

Wait a little longer and have another look at some more mate.
