Kwik fit exhaust for 172

  phase 1 Clio 172
Done a lot of searching, i've got a mild steel custom exhaust at the mo, which sounds nice at full chat but is soooo droney. Want to get a standard exhaust back on again due to the number of miles i do. Kwik fit quoted £170 which isn't too bad, just wondering if anybody has got/had one and what are there thoughts?

Wouldn't go near quick fit for an exhaust of any kind tbh.

Wouldn't even let them put an exhaust on my petrol lawn mower.

Yes - One on my first car (fiesta 1.1) and one for my old clio (1.2 16v dynamique).

Both fell off, and were showing sign's of wear within 6 months. For the 182 I've got a yozza cat back. Difference is night and day in the sense that:
A) It doesn't fall off
B) It doesn't restrict power
C) it doesn't rust.

Seriously mate, you're better off paying for a quality product (yozza stealth/btb stealth if you want quiet) than buying some cheap s**t, that you will only have to replace.

A yozza/BTB exhaust will also sell on really easy.

In fact there is a yozza stealth in the FS section at th moment, which brown bear is selling for £100 if memory serves.

bar the rule of not posting pics when mentioning tits/females, mentioning kwik fit on here is punishable by death

I swear if I take a car to s**t fit it takes about 2 hours until it then tries to kill me.

I trusted them with brakes once on my old 306. They let me drive it away knowing the brakes were not working correctly (backs were sticking on, like as in the discs were glowing) needless to say the 1st roundabout I got to in the rain was interesting.
People told me they probably didn't realise, but they did because they told me they knew about the problem, when I returned to complain! tw*tS!

Don't go near the place.

even if the exhaust fits that they supply (highly unlikely as i know where they buy them from - and that particular company doesn't even list it in their catalogue), it will be cheap quality anyways.

avoid.

Kwik fit exhausts will rust and rot - my mate got o e for his vectra 2.5 v6 Gsi and what a mess it was in after only a year. just get a stainless steel one

Have you tried a Hi-Q centre?? My local one is really good...?

I went to Kwik Fit when I was young and foolish as I had a problem with my Rover Coupe, was losing power at 3.5k rpm and making an awful noise which sounded like high pressure gas escaping. They told me it was perfectly fine and there were no problems.

Took it to Hi-Q and my back box was hanging on by a thread... lol!!

I usually go there only for their "Free Tests" to ammuse my self when bored, it's quite commical the stories they come up with!! lol

I used to have loads of time on my hands. No stories as such I just like the random problems they come up with. Although when I took my 172 to get the balancing done I clocked the guy revving the t*ts off it. :-/

Stern words were had! And his reply was "it sounds nice at 5k dunnit?" lol

kwik-fit are a bunch of useless monkey's IMO. When i first got the car the top of the steering wheel was at about 10past and pulling to the right. took it to kwik fit. They did the geometry and said it was fine, then told to take my steering wheel off and put it on straight :dapprove: . Took it to a local specialist and guess what, fookin well out. cost me the best part of £45 but so worth it.

To recap, stay away from kwik-fit
