KTR v's K&N panel filter

  Inferno 182
Swaped over a fairly low mileage KTR filter for a new K&N last night. What a difference! Was gonna sell the KTR but if anyone wants it, it's in my grey wheelie bin with the rest of the rubbish now ;)

It's just a smoother curve going up the revs. the KTR seemed to be holding back slightly and the change has undoubtedly cured that. K&N have been specialists in induction since they began so thought I'd give it a go. Definitely a better filter for me anyway.

I recently put a Pipercross panel filter in my 200. Now got a terrible flat spot, so its going in the bin along side your KTR filter. Back to standard for me I think.

Have any of you tried cleaning the filters before binning them? It's entirely possible that they just have too much oil on them which is restricting the flow a little.

To be fair Chris is shouldn't have inferred the KTR was rubbish. I should've tried cleaning and re-oiling it but that's too much messy hassle IMO.
Apologies KTR.

Pulling your chain man. I had a couple myself and 100% agree and I've owned over 50 cars. There's one for sale near me at a very low price, but I don't have time this year to restore it :(

I'm 45 btw but don't tell anyone :)
