Just a few problems :( Help Please!

Hi peeps, Having loads of problems with my cup this last week or so, I bought the car about a month ago with a drivers window that doesn't work which I now know could and probably is the UCH (Renault job?).

Now I think it's misfiring a little too as it pops out the exhaust and is a little jumpy/kangaroo(e) for the first 10 mins of driving (I know they have a lumpy idle when cold) but its still pops and feels lumpy when its warm, A lot more when its been given some throttle. The car drive's fine albeit down on power from when I bought it and with little to no "kick" at 5000rpm.

Belts, dephaser and water pump done in February this year and the car was quick when I got it, It's still quick but just not all there if you know what I mean lol.

Also when I give it the beans the speedo starts to dance around all over the place I've changed the speedo sensor on the gearbox but it still dance's but as soon as I let off the throttle it goes back to normal and tells me the correct speed :/ any ideas guys? and when the car is doing its jumpy thing in the first 10 mins the speedo jumps in time with the jumpy car?

could really do with some ideas as I've been reading the forums and not really getting anywhere, Really need someone to give it a good look over.

Had similar issues. Turned out to be a duff Injector. Cheap enough to replace one by one.

Thanks for the reply N4TH4N, I've got it booked in a my local garage on Monday for a full service and to try and find the misfire, I'll make sure they check the injectors but they are a good garage so they should know this anyway. Really hope its nothing serious.

Could the UHC be causing the the speedo to play up as well as the drivers window? where does the speedo signal go?

When my window went it was the microswitch within the switch unit. Took it apart and you could clearly see it was burnt. You can check voltages etc. before that stage, I have a diagram I created I can post in here if you're interested. Other thing it could be is the actual mechanism... can you hear it 'trying' to engage?

I can't hear the window trying to open, no clicking from under the dash and nothing from the door. But if I try close the window even though it's already closed I hear the clicking from under the dash, Two clicks in fact one when I press the switch and one when I stop.

Could I have a look at the diagram you've made please might just help me because the more I think about it the more I'm thinking it may not be the UCH as everything else works fine it just clicks loudly from the passenger side of the dash when I'm using windscreen wipers and windows.

could still do with know about the speedo signal, I thinks it's connected to the radio so it can adjust volume the faster you drive, but it never gets loud the faster i get so maybe that's the problem? It's just know how to fix it as I just don't know.

hi got similar issue with my cup just got a diagnostic code and i have a bad purge valve,which sits below the drivers headlight,can cause problems apparently,dont know to get 1 yet as fault only found out 2day lol

That's something I've not heard of is a purge valve lol, I'll look into it but it never showed up on the diagnostic's only a misfire and a few other codes - DF030 Electric fan speed 2(not sure what this is?), DF308 Changeover valve for induction damper (which I think is the acoustic valve sensor unpluged) and a few others that we cleared and didn't come back.

All this time as well I've had not one warning light on the dash but I've done the dash test trick thing and all bulbs work fine :/

Easiest things to do is get your voltage meter out mate and chuck it on the switches and and regulator (mechanism) I've found the diagram but out of context I can't imagine how helpful it's going to be!

Just remembered mine was on the passenger side, I don't have the information for the drivers regulator, but I suspect it's the same.

Hi andy

The kangarooing and backfire is more than likely a bad coil/spark plug.
A set of spark plugs and valeo coils is about £70 or you can work out which one it is and save some money.

Ok guys thanks, got the car booked in a garage in the morning for a service and to find the misfire. I cant really make anything of the diagram lol. Want to get the car running right first then ill worry about the window and speedo.

Hey Guys, Not the best news I've had, £688 is the cost of the repair bill for the cup and I might not get my car back until tomorrow.

The whole 9 yards is getting done, spent close to 2 hours talking to the garage and looking at diagnostic's clearing codes(even tho the misfire was not showing up on diagnostic's today) and driving it and so on....

In the end we came to an agreement (well more me getting p**sed off) its gonna be easy to just replace the coils pack, coils, ht leads, injectors basically the whole ignition system and give it a full service ready for winter.
If this doesn't work I'm out of ideas and lot lighter in the pocket.

Got my car back and from the drive home everything seems ok, Still don't know what caused the problem, just the window and speedo now.

I don't know any specialist around me so I took it to the garage I took my last car, I was shocked at the price but its all here in front of me itemized on paper even got the old injectors coil pack and stuff to have a look at.( that's for tomorrow tho) so I don't know really know what to think tbh just glad it working.

What was the problem here in the end?
