Johnny's ph2 daily

  172,Sierra cosworth
Hi guys and girls
Joined up to the forum a year ago as basic member when I bought a silver 172 ph2 so I thought it was about time to pull my finger out and join properly.
Never been into what I call "new cars" always played generally 80's early 90's stuff. Had over 60 cars in the last 12 years trying out different stuff :
Golf gti's mk1&2
Various Polos mk2 and a G40
Escort Rs turbos x4
nova gte lol
Fiesta's xr2i's and mk1 1300s
Pulsar Gtir
UNO turbos x7
Lots of Sierra's including a sapp cosworth and my 3 door
A couple of classic rovers 1968 p5b and a 1972 p6b
Anyway you get the idea!!
A friend of mine had one when they were a year old and raved on about how good these little clios are but it wasn't til another friend of my bought one as a cheap stop gap car. Had a go in it a week later I had mine sat on the drive :)

I am the third owner and it had only done 58,000 miles when I got her a year ago and was completely standard.
First thing was change the rotten exhaust so got a ktec stealth, 182 manifold, decat and link pipe. Haven't got any pics of this as they were on my old phone.
Then was time for a suspension change and refresh.
I went with Koni's and cooksport springs as I am not a fan of cheap coilovers.

So 1 year on into Clio ownership she hasn't missed a beat. Just over 14,000 miles and all I've done is change the oil and filter three times and some ngk new plugs.
Was hoping to have done a track day or 2 but just haven't got round to it.

Have taken the plunge and am now going turbo!!! I suppose it was inevitable after having so many turbo'd hot hatches over the years.
I have bought a second hand kit off here its a engine dynamics 230 kit.
Just need to source the early ph1 fuel set up and the all important management!!!
Rather than going to someone who can map the standard Ecu which in my opinion is a bit naff I took the plunge and went adaptronic.
I spoke to Andy@clioturbo in Durham who I must say is a really genuine bloke and gives first class service.
I've always done all the work on my cars over the years excluding mapping of course so it was very strange letting someone else loose on my car.
As I am doing the turbo conversion my self I spoke with Andy to see if he could fit the management to my car as it is a n/a 172 because I am 280 miles away from him and would cost a fortune to get it recovered there once I'd done the conversion. He said not a problem but it would only be on a base map to get me home. Booked a day with him so on wednesday 27 may booked the day off work and took the long drive up north for him to supply and fit the adaptronic Ecu.

Here she is in the workshop.
I would like to say a big thank you to Andy@clioturbo a very bloke who you can tell he doesn't treat your pride and joy as just another pay day. He really lives up to his reputation and well worth the 560 miles round trip.
