is this a common 172 mod!?

Hi eveyone, i bought my first clio sport 172 a few days ago and am really enjoying it. Its a 2nd car to enjoy on the weekend and i was lucky enough to get it for £480 off gumtree. Im over the moon with the price, it was running on 3 cylinders when started from hot and i narrowed it down to injector number 2. After buying a new injector for £36 it now runs faultless. I spent another £80 on giving it a service after work this evening so all in all it owes me less then £600. whilst servicing it today i came across this!!??

i havnt seen one of these since i used to read max power as a lad! Am i right in saying this isnt a popular mod on the clios and it is just down to some numpty previous owner??
I took it straight off and threw it as far as i could (into the skip), please tell me it wasnt expensive lol

Is it a blue bucket? Only works if it's blue.

Nope, if you just use any old blue one it won't work. It MUST be a 5 Litre Calf Rearing Bucket.

Sooo... It only works with lift off over steer?

Firstly, it collapses the manifold vacuum allowing briefly for a richer mixture on the re-application of a trailing throttle

How can they charge £43 for that?!

I'm not worried, the previous owner changed the headlights for the mot and was clearly a cheap skate.
