Immobiliser emulator anybody tried these?

Found this and am interested in anybodys experiences with them

Have done an engine conversion and think I will have immobiliser issues. Sick to the back teeth of them anyway they just make me worry about taking the car long distances so is this a cheap simple solution or another gimmick?

Those who run a 172 in a mark 1 all use these afaik, definitely not a gimmick.

Good to know. Hopefully one of these people can tell me how it works site seems to mention something about needing ECU decoder unit aswell. Do you know if it works on a standard ECU to do away with the immobiliser?

you have to get the ecu "virginised" so there's no immobiliser code on it before fitting the emulator.

Ah right that makes more sense. Any ideas on any companys that do this or a ballpark price for it?

so exactly what the hell is this thing??

if your key fob is faulty you use it how to do what?

That's not bad then works out around half the price of a new key when that inevitably goes faulty aswell. Thanks for the asnwers.

BoomOne from what it won't need the key afterwards i.e if your key goes faulty makes the immobiliser redundant anyway so when you try to start it it doesn't need to unlock before you can start.
