I keep seeing 1*2 around on here

Is this just people saying 182 differently or something totally different?

Just wanted to ask.

Glad someone asked this lol  I was thinking the same. and now that sanders has replied with that answer it seems such a simple answer!

I know right. It all makes sense now

4 years I've been on here and never had that explained.

There we go

Cheers.

Well I did think it was just another way to put 182 as * is above a 8 on keyboard? Weirdo aren't I.

Just read this, wondered how someone wouldn't realise what it meant instantly...then I realised you posted it Chris and all became clear :p

Ha! Thanks a lot Matt

You got to admit. You didn't know that straight away surely? It's well confusing!

Bit daft really it takes more effort to put the * in (Having to stretch to the shift + 8) I might just be really idle though? Just write 182 or 172 :S?

Or does 1*2 look well 'Cool'

Well it's for when both cars could be applicable e.g.

There were lots of 1*2's there...

Going from this car, I fancy a 1*2, not sure which.

e.t.c.

ffs.
It's when people are talking about things that apply to both 172 and 182. so "1*2" is easier than typing "172/182"

Not a stupid question at all mate, actually quite a useful one as the other replies show.
