how do you remove the steering wheel from a mark 2 phase 2 as il be replacing the dash tommorrow??

Really easy, Undo the battery in the engine bay and leave for 20 mins to make sure the airbag is dicharged, Turn your steering wheel and you will see 2 lugs behind,You will need a flat head screwdriver to push the metal bits outwards, Once both are out the airbag pulls off (Be gentle as the wires will be still attached, Unplug the wires, You will see a torx bolt in the middle holding the wheel on, Undo this about halfway then pull the wheel off and undo the rest of the bolt, this stops the wires getting ripped off.

No need to take the steering wheel off to remove/fit the dash...

taking the whole dash out, lower upper and gear surround bit

I managed to push one clip outwards but the other one was very difficult to do it! Is there a trick to use the flat screwdiver! Is there a better tool to do it?

I did the job! The trick is to use a bended end flat screwdriver. It helps you pull the clip first and then unclip it!
