So at a garage it wouldn't take long? Dropped the car of this morning just a 1.4 mk2 ph 1 clio an booked in for 9 and the guy said it would be ready around dinner time. why so long?

The garage probably opens at nine, when someoene books their car in he will tell them all to have it there for 9am (just like Big Jock in The garage).

When booking he will write it down in his book what its in for, and depending where you are on that list determines what order you get seen to.

Standard practice, unless its a not so busy garage and you can just drive there and put it straight on a ramp.

it was £85 and then vat on top so came to like £100 for new discs and pads fitted plus i think he tightened my handbreak as it feels tighter than before. Although he had the back wheels off to check the drums an shoes or w.e

once you have done your own discs and pads you wont pay for it done again, its only about 6 bolts a side not including lug nuts

What do you mean? That once the job is done that will be it for the duration of your ownership of the car. Or you mean something else

He means its easy enough to do yourself once you have a guide to doing it the first time round. The second time and every other time after is easy.
