Up until last saturday I loved my clio, its a 172 replica and has given me no problems what so ever, i've been a proud owner for 2 and a half years.
However, i went to go to work last saturday and it wouldnt start at all, the engine simply didnt turn over.
First the battery was checked, the battery is good, no problems.
I could still bump start the car at this point.
Then the start motor was checked, it was rotating about 1mph when connected to a battery so assumed it was the problem, got it refurbished and put it back on, the car still wont start.
I cant bump start it anymore now though :/
I googled it and checked the forum on this website to see if anyone else was having the same problem and it seems to be the solanoid wire mainly, got this checked and mines fine.
Changed the relays too, just in case it was one of them.
I will say though there is no power at all getting to my start motor but the my wires and their connections are fine.
Im completely out of ideas! I still havent got a working car, relying on other people is a pain!
So im asking for advice from you guys before i take it to a renault specialist and fork out loads of money, im so disappointed with my clio at the moment. :(

Who refurbished the starter motor?

What exactly happens when turning the key? What dash lights, what noises etc? Does it turn over and just not fire? Or not even turn over?

Is the flashing red light in the middle of the instrument console going out when you attempt to turn the key or does it just stay red?

Some company that are local to me. all the dash lights come on, there used to be a small clicking noise before the start motor got refurbished, now nothing at all. It doesnt turn over at all.

I havent noticed the red light, but i cant check now until tomorrow, my cars down at my brothers garage, we bump started it there but cant get it running to bring it back again.

First off I'd suggest fitting another battery. Doesn't matter what from, just see what happens. That clicking is common for battery.

You could have a dead battery, or possibly dead alternator.

I'd then suggest fitting another starter just to rule it out, they're pennies for the 1.2's.

I'd then be looking for an earth or possible immobiliser fault.
